Alaskan Humor
I guess you have to 1) be pretty rugged, and 2) find humor in everything, to survive a long dark Alaskan winter. So here are some photos of things that struck me as funny. Hope you laugh too!
No... really??!?
Apparently there is some political controversy over a proposed gas pipeline running through Canada rather than through Alaska. Thankfully, Sarah's right on it.
This is really a bar, not just a sign! It's located halfway between Fairbanks, and ..... some other place.**
I'm not really sure why this is funny -- this is a view of the one-lane gravel road that runs through the park. I guess the thought of plummeting over the edge to my death made me laugh nervously. Very, very nervously......
While in Fairbanks, I called home (yes, 4000 miles away!) and had my daughters pull up the Arctic Cam mounted on the Fairbanks News-Miner's office building. Then waved at them. Isn't technology so cool??
Your Intrepid Adventurer. (Psst -- do you think if they'd stop putting these signs out, the moose would go somewheres else?)
For some reason, the bears do not like this sign -- they chewed on it. I can only imagine that warning humans to stay away might spoil their dinner plans.

**This just in to our news desk -- our Alaskan correspondent informs us that Skinny Dick's is halfway between Fairbanks and Nenana, which rhymes with banana.
