~~ Eklutna Lake~~

Eklutna lake is a 7 mile long, 1/2 mile wide body of glacial water located in
the Chugach State Park, north of Anchorage. We kayaked its length to the
end and back -- a 14 mile journey. In addition to kayaking, visitors can hike,
fish, camp, and bicycle. The city of Anchorage draws its drinking water
from Eklutna Lake. It is a serene and lovely place.

The glacier plays hide and seek with cloud and mountain

A group of visitors from Spain enjoy the lake's placid beauty
(A note on scale -- the point that you see jutting out into the lake from the
right is three miles from the viewers on shore.)

Surprised by morning, the mountain wraps herself in gossamer scarves of fog.
