On November 24 - 26, 2000, the Sun unleashed
a series of coronal mass ejections (CMEs)
that were directed towards the Earth. Five of
these events were classified as X-Class flares.
Despite predictions of widespread aurorae visible
down to the mid- and lower-latitudes, only those
lucky few above 55 degrees geomagnetic latitude
were able to see the Northern Lights during this storm.

night of November 28th, 2000.
